Regional Government invests in five forest conservation and fire prevention projects
Ordinance no. 137/2026 formalizes the distribution of budgetary charges for the acquisition of forestry services essential for fire prevention and post-fire ecological recovery. The projects, co-financed by the EAFRD, are divided into the following lots:
- Lot 1: Post-Fire Ecological Restoration of the Porto Moniz Forest Perimeter (project PRODERAM20-8.4.0-FEADER002605), with a total value of €823,602.33.
- Lot 2: Post-Fire Ecological Restoration of Montado do Galhano (project PRODERAM20-8.4.0-FEADER002606), with a total value of €173,965.49.
- Lot 3: Post-Fire Ecological Restoration of Pico da Urze and Surrounding Areas (project PRODERAM20-8.4.0-FEADER002607), with a total value of €431,646.34.
- Lot 4: Preventive Forestry Intervention near Pico Castelo - Porto Santo (project PRODERAM20-8.4.0-FEADER002619), with a total value of €49,242.74.
- Lot 5: Funchal Eco Park - forest conversion of 8.4 hectares near Caminho dos Pretos, B252 - Monte (project PRODERAM20-8.4.0-FEADER002621), with a total value of €122,939.28.
The charges are staggered between the 2026 and 2027 fiscal years, with the expenditure recorded in the Private Budget of the Institute of Forests and Nature Conservation, IP-RAM.
